How did you come to Ocala First?
I had been in full time Children's Ministry for over 15 years in South Florida when Out of the blue Pastor Brunson called and was looking for a full time Children's Pastor. Not knowing that where I was serving was facing staff cut backs, the call and the timing we believe was directed by God.
What is your role at Ocala First?
I am the Children's Pastor overseeing the growth and development of all ministries from birth to 6th grade.
What is the best part about your role?
I love to be a part of the kids and their families lives. It's a privilege seeing them grow both physically and spiritually. The kids are our most valuable resource and I want to be a godly influence in their lives.
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years? Why?
When you study history and read about electricity, cars, and airplanes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_invention) all coming on line you think wow "we got it so good." How can you pick any just one? But with all the new technology my vote goes to the cell phone... Why you ask?... Well it let's me spend more money faster and I can communicate with all my family and friends. The computer is second but it has it's pro's and con's.
What is your favorite place on the earth?
At home with my wife Nelsa and our four kids Kevin, Mariana, Caleb and Anamarie. However my newest point of interest is and I will probably never get there, but I was reading in National Geographic (Nov. 08) an article about the Cavern of Crystal Giants discovered in 2000. This looks cool but it's about 110 degrees inside. It's like a giant geo (a round rock with crystals inside) discovered in Chihuahua Mexico with over 150 crystals and the longest being 37 feet long. I can see God still has awesome surprises for us. (kids go to the library and check it out).
What makes you laugh?
Watching AFV (America's Funniest Videos) with my family as well as our own home.
What makes you cry?
Big Boys don't Cry...however the awesome power of Gods Spirit upon my life bends my knees and I cry Abba Father also, seeing others in worship and being drawn into God's presence.
If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?
If you ask what makes you laugh then I would add this question to it and say dancing with the stars, or you think you can dance, now that would be funny. But to answer the question I would choose Survivor man.
