How did you come to OcalaFirst?
In my Senior year at Southeastern University we were looking for a
church to become children's pastors in. I was talking to a professor of
mine, and at his table was a fellow student. The student said, "Did you
know
First Assembly of God in Ocala is hiring?" I thought to myself, "This
is too
big of a church for my first position, but I did not want to limit God,
so I
sent my resume, and the rest is history.
What is your role at OcalaFirst?
My role is Children's Pastor. I oversee all of the ministries
related to the ages of birth through 12 years old. As overseer, my true
role
is to be shepherd to the children and to lead both kids and kids'
leaders in
a spiritual journey toward a mature relationship with Christ.
What is the best part about your role?
The kids, duh!!! Really, I love teaching kids, seeing them grow,
getting letters from them, and having the satisfaction that God is at
work
in their lives, and He allowed me to be a part of it.
What is your favorite place on the earth?
South Lake Tahoe, CA.
What makes you laugh?
"Elf" (If you haven't seen it, you're missing out!)
Just being alive. There's too much stuff to write it all down. As a
children's pastor, you better be good-spirited.
What makes you cry?
When I hit my thumb with a hammer.
Seriously, when the presence of the Lord is upon me, and during
certain moments when the Lord reveals things in or to my life.
What is your favorite book or movie or tv show?
I'll answer all 3.
My favorite book is the book of Nehemiah (that's in the Old
Testament).
My favorite movie is Star Wars (All six)
My favorite TV show would have to be (since my wife and I don't have
cable or even bunny ears, we have to watch the DVD's) "24".
